(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Natalia Livingston is leaving “General Hospital.”
A “General Hospital” spokesperson reports to Soap Opera Network that Natalia Livingston “has decided to pursue other projects.” This news of course means that the character of Rebecca Shaw will be taking her leave from the Port Charles canvas soon.
In April 2003, Livingston joined the cast of “GH” as Emily Quartermaine, the adopted daughter of Monica and Alan Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson and Stuart Damon). The Daytime Emmy Award winning actress played the role, originated by Amber Tamblyn in 1995, until May of 2008. In January 2009, in a surprising move, the 33-year old actress returned to the soap but not as Emily, instead she took on the role of Emily’s newly created twin-sister Rebecca. Although Livingston’s Emily enjoyed a popular romance with Nikolas Cassadine, played by Natalia’s one-time real life beau Tyler Christopher, the look-alike character of Rebecca never really took off with Nikolas or the audience.
Livingston is described as a “beloved member of the [GH] family” whom the ABC soap sends their best wishes to on her future endeavors.
“General Hospital” airs Weekdays on ABC and Weeknights on SOAPnet. Check local listings.
