(SoapOperaNetwork.com) -- On Tuesday, December 16, former "Guiding Light" set designer Harry B. Miller was assaulted by his 79-year-old wife, Zdenka Kral, after a heated argument escalated. The news was first reported by the New York Post.At approximately 2:00 AM that morning, Miller, 84, dashed out of his upper East Side apartment after he was pounded on the head with a frying pan and a hammer. A doorman called the police. When they arrived they had to break down the couples bedroom door. What they found was an unconscious Kral, who had apparently taken prescription drugs. Miller and Kral were taken to neighboring Lenox Hill Hospital. Mr. Miller was released from the hospital. His wife remained hospitalized. It is unclear as to whether she has now been released.
Miller has won two Emmy awards for his work on CBS' "Guiding Light." He has also worked as a Set Director for "The Edge of Night."
