(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — The “world’s fattest nudist” stops by “One Life to Live.”
Thirty-year-old actor Kyle Overstreet has appeared in nearly two dozen Youtube videos in recent months, in which he streaks his way through various well-known locations across New York City clad in only running shoes, tube socks, and a strategically placed fanny pack. “The first time you run by, they’re like, ‘Oh my god, that guy’s nude,’” he says in one of the videos. “But the next time you run by, they’re like, ’That’s the world’s fastest nudist!’”
The videos have garnered over 60,000 hits on Youtube, as well as more than 25,000 hits on other popular blogs such as the Huffington Post. One even found it’s way to CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360″ in September, causing the reporter to comment that “This does not faze New Yorkers — believe me we have all seen much worse than this.”
According to the New York Times, the videos are part of an online ad campaign for Zappos, an Internet-based shoe company that began selling clothing in 2007. Designed by Agent 16, the first ad featured Overstreet streaking as a van slams on its brakes, while the passengers emerge wearing t-shirts and carrying boxes promoting the business. Moments later the everyone reboards the van and, as it drives away, Mr. Overstreet is shown wearing a dress shirt and pants. “I’d say I got too big for my britches, but as everybody knows I don’t wear britches” explains a caption on YouTube. “Thank you Zappos.com for snuffing out the most important part of being the world’s fastest nudist with your blazing fast delivery of CLOTHES and SHOES.” The ad agency claims it had no deal with the Cable News Network to broadcast the video, while a spokesperson for CNN had no comment.
“A van would drop me off in my shorts, with my shirt off,” Mr. Overstreet said tells the Times. “I really didn’t know what I had gotten myself into until those shorts first came off and I was like, ‘Oh my god, this is insane.’ But I would drop trou, run, and try not to run into any policemen or children. I had this thing called a ‘Houdini.’ And I was wearing sheer panty hose, too, so with the nudity laws I could sort of defend myself to a cop.”
Overstreet, whose day job is as a bellman at the Bowery Hotel, stated that the videos were “largely improvised” and were shot at various locations around New York City in July.
The actor reveals to the Times that he will appear in an upcoming episode of “One Life to Live” in November (an airdate has not been announced), and will play a cop. Hopefully he will put on some clothes on for the role. The last thing Llanview needs right now is a streaker, considering all the other drama currently unfolding in town. Although, it would likely be a first for daytime television.
