(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — “One Life to Live” contemplates re-hiring Dan Gauthier as Kevin Buchanan, someone is in the hospital, there’s trouble on the set, another one bites the dust, and the soap may soon be back in the ‘Dogg’ house, all in this edition of Llanview Gossip.

Could “OLTL” be on the verge of correcting one of the biggest mistakes they have made in recent years when they fired fan favorite Dan Gauither? The answer could be yes according to Head Writer Ron Carlivati. The scribe tells ABC Soaps in Depth that fans may have have not seen the last of either Gauthier or Kevin following his three episode return last month, and that the character may soon find a place on the front burner when Gina Tognoni returns as Kelly Cramer early in 2010. Gauthier was canned three years ago this month after nearly four years with the show because ABC claimed the character of Kevin tested negatively with focus groups; he briefly returned for two episodes in 2007 following the death of his family patriarch Asa Buchanan.

John-Paul Lavoisier (Rex) tells Soap Opera Weekly that he recently taped some hospital scenes with his onscreen pop Mitch Laurence (Roscoe Born), who returns from the dead on Monday, November 9th.

Jared Banks (John Brotherton) will last be seen alive on Monday, November 16th, however that doesn’t mean we still won’t see his spirit popping up in dreams and fantasies in the near future.

Brandon Buddy (Cole) tweeted on November 3rd that he had a “Long day at the studio, got in a little bit of trouble. Listening to new Weezer and it’s making me feel better. I’ll never outgrow them.” Kristen Alderson (Starr) tweeted later the same day that “sooooo tired. work from 7:30am -9:00pm but totally got a nap in between. it was fun, i just had the chills for some of it. fever =(,” and that “it’s actually comforting when you’re sick @ the studio, everyone is SO sweet, & you really see how much everyone cares about you =).” Hmmm…wonder what storyline these two teens were working on that kept them at the studio all day and evening?

Alderson also comments that “I can’t believe Eddie [Alderson] is @ the game [World Series] 2night w. Bob Woods [Bo], needles & Roscoe Born [Mitch]! luckyy!! sounds like an amazing guy’s night out.”

When “OLTL” Supervising Music Producer Paul S. Glass was asked the name of the song used in the soap’s November sweeps promo, he had this to say: “I don’t work on promos (they are done in L.A.) but that song is Skillet ‘Awake and Alive.’ Thanks!”

From the grapevine…

Speculation has surfaced that Snoop Dogg will be returning to “One Life to Live” for an encore performance in January, and that he will tape his scenes sometime in December. Fans may recall that the rapper appeared on stage during Adriana’s bachelorette party in 2008 (at which time he also recorded his own version of the “OLTL” theme, which was used for the two episodes he appeared in). Snoop Dogg, who is a longtime fan of “One Life to Live,” apparently approached the soap about returning, and is to have been working on some new material recently while watching the show.

Also, it is said that in 2010 “OLTL” is planning a somewhat of a sequel to the “Prom Night: the Musical” event from 2007, although it is unclear exactly which and how many cast members would be involved in the production.

However, it should be noted that neither rumor has been confirmed at this time, and are based upon information posted on the Internet by a friend of someone who claims to have had the opportunity to speak with Glass at the “Billboard Film&TV Music Conference” recently. Again, neither rumor has been confirmed at this point in time. However, SON will keep you updated.

Speaking of Paul Glass, the “OLTL” music man tweeted last week that he had “Just showed our ‘OLTL’ sizzle reel at Billboard Film&TV Music Conference and it was the only thing that has gotten applause since 9am (he made the tweet just before 2 pm)! The Sizzle reel was musical guest highlights Would love to show online but impossible due to rights.” And for those wondering about recent musical montages at the end of recent episodes, Glass says that on Oct. 19th, it was Daniel Powter’s “Am I Still The One,” and on Oct. 27th it was One Republic’s “Home.”

And then there’s this little nugget from ABC Soaps in Depth’s Twitter page “One of our editors is on set, vamping it up with ‘OLTL’ bad girls Crystal Hunt (Stacy) and Amanda Setton (Kim). Sounds like fun!”

“One Life to Live” airs Weekdays on ABC. Weeknights on SOAPnet. Check local listings.
