In addition to watch.theemmys.tv, Soap Opera Network has learned that fans of daytime television will also be able to stream “The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards” live on YouTube on Friday, October 30, from the historic Hollywood Palladium in Hollywood, California.

No television provider will be required, as viewers at home will be able to access the telecast for free across a multitude of devices including mobile, Smart TVs, Apple TV, Roku, Android TV, Fire TV, Chromecast, iPhone, iPad and Android, among others, and online via watch.theemmys.tv and the official Emmys YouTube Channel, run by The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, the governing body behind the awards.

The presentation, which is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m. ET/5:00 p.m. PT on October 30, will encompass all categories, including creative arts, with “The Young and the Restless” leading all shows with 18 nominations, followed by “Beyond the Gates” with 15, “General Hospital” with 13, “Days of our Lives” with eight, and “The Bold and the Beautiful” with seven.

Genie Francis, who won the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2007 for her portrayal of Laura Spencer on “General Hospital,” is this year’s recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The legendary actress joined the soap in 1977 as a teenage Laura Vining, and will mark 50 years since making her daytime television debut in February 2027.

The on-screen wedding between her character and Luke Spencer, portrayed by the late Anthony Geary, drew an average of 30 million viewers in November 1981, and remains the most-watched and highest-rated single episode of a regularly scheduled daytime program. The episode featured a cameo by the late Elizabeth Taylor (“Cleopatra”), who originated the role of Helena Cassadine.

The Daytime Emmy Awards on YouTube marks the fourth time this year that NATAS has streamed an Emmy Awards telecast on the service, starting with “The 47th Annual Sports Emmy Awards” and the multi-night presentation of “The 47th Annual News & Documentary Emmy Awards” in May.

Since 1974, the Daytime Emmy Awards have recognized outstanding achievement in television programming and crafts, honoring work in a variety of genres, including daytime dramas, talk series, entertainment news, culinary, adventure, instructional, and legal/courtroom programming.

Once again presented as a single ceremony, “The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards” is being produced by NATAS Productions, with Adam Sharp and Lara Gates serving as executive producers, and Leon Knoles returning to direct for a fifth straight year. Rachel Schwartz serves as Head of Daytime, with Lutz & Carr, LLP is providing accounting services for the competition.
